Welcome to Makara Bed and Breakfast
Set in almost a hectare of gardens and field, Christine and Pat Grace's country home is in the peaceful surroundings of a quiet rural village but only 20 minutes from the centre of Wellington. Close to supermarkets, shops, pubs and cafes in Karori, and within easy driving distance to the numerous restaurants of Wellington it is a perfect location for a quiet getaway or a base for exploring the Wellington area.

Makara is a historic area of Wellington, with gold mining and farming introduced in the 1860's. Many of the families still living in the area have ancestors who were the original farmers and gold miners.
There is a nine hole golf course adjacent, and an eighteen hole course five minutes drive away. Makara Beach, cafe and Coastal Walkway are nearby, and the Makara Peak Mountain Bike Park is just a bike ride away.
The house has an indoor heated pool and sauna, and barbecue facilities are also available. Dinner can be provided by arrangement. You would be made very welcome by Christine and Pat, their two elderly cats and pet sheep.
